PostSubject: Race Creation   Race Creation EmptyThu Mar 22, 2012 9:18 pm

While there is not a certain template to fill out to create a race, there are a few requirements.

You must tell us:

The name

General information about the race

The Ranks of the Race

And anything else you wish to include.

I will post an example of a good race registration, however it will not be a race on this site.

Post a new topic with your Race information, titling each post with what it is about, as I have done below. If it is accepted, I will move the topic to the Races forum.

PostSubject: The Kineara - About the Race   Race Creation EmptyThu Mar 22, 2012 9:19 pm

The Kineara are a race of creatures who are one with nature. The Kineara are born with the ability to transform into one certain creature, be it fox, phoenix, snake, etc. The creatures they may turn into are not limited to ordinary creatures, they may also change into "Mythical" creatures as well. They stay close to each other, and very rarely will you find a loner of the Kineara race, as they prefer to be around those of their kind.

There are four main clans of Kineara; The Air Kin, The Water Kin, The Warm Kin, and The Cold Kin.
The Air Kin consists of all Kineara with the ability to change into a flying creature.
The Water Kin consists of all Kineara with the ability to change into an creature that lives in the water.
The Warm Kin consists of all Kineara with the ability to change into a warm-blooded land-based creature.
The Cold Kin consists of all Kineara with the ability to change into a cold-blooded land-based creature.

The Kin can come with all kinds of personalities, much like humans, but generally they are very protective of their fellow clan members. While the clans most often get along, they do have their differences, and have been known to fight, but never for long and they always form a peace between each other.

Should any of the clans be threatened by any race besides their own, then all clans will come to their aid, such is the nature of the Kin. The Kin prefer to stick within their race, and do not often associate with those from a different race, though that does not mean that they wont.

The Kin live abnormally long lives, much longer than the lives of humans. To the Kin, one human year was like a little more than one month to them, and thus, they live about 10 times longer than humans. Although they live this long, they rarely show signs of aging, as they've the innate ability to stop aging and start aging as they please. Vanity causes many to stop aging once they feel they are the most beautiful. Because of this, although their body and mind ages, their physical appearance stays the same.

PostSubject: The Kineara - Kineara Clan Hierarchy   Race Creation EmptyThu Mar 22, 2012 9:21 pm

Unlike many species, the Kineara are not headed by a king/queen. Below is the hierarchy of the Kineara, from those with the most power, to those with the least.

Clan Hierarchy
Chieftain:
High Priest/Priestess
Advisor
Clergy
Military (has own hierarchy, will be posted below)
Regular members.

Military Hierarchy:
(While all orders must first be approved by those of higher rank, the chain of command within the military goes as follows.)
Generals
Section leaders (Check the Sections topic)
Informants
Regular soldiers

In the hierarchy was mentioned a Grand Priest/Priestess, High Priestess, and Clergy. Those ranks will be explained here.

Grand Priest/Priestess:

This rank is the highest of the Clan Hierarchy. There can only ever be four of these at one time, one for each clan. They hold power over their whole clan. While this may seem incredibly tempting, one must also remember it is a great responsibility, for the lives of all their clan members rests in their hands. The Kineara believe in their own Gods (See Gods topic) and it is the Duty of the Grand Priest/Priestess and the High Priest/Priestess to be the voice of their Gods.
Spoiler:

High Priest/Priestess:

Although this rank is below the rank of chieftain, the High Priest/Priestess only answers to the Grand Priest/Priestess. They cannot however order the Chieftain, and cannot be ordered by the Chieftain. They are the advisors and the helpers of the Grand Priest/Priestess. There may be many, or few of those in this rank in each clan, depending on how many the current Grand Priest/Priestess feels they need.

Clergy:

The Clergy are those who devote themselves to the Gods, who are not soldiers, but also are not regular clan members. While they cannot give an order to those below their rank, it is their duty to ensure all people below them are aware of any orders given by those of higher rank than them. The Clergy do not have to answer to the Chieftain, or his/her advisers

In the Clan Hierarchy is mentioned a Chieftain, Adviser and the Military. Those ranks, and the ranks mentioned in the Military Hierarchy, will be explained here.

Chieftain:

He/She is second in power only to the Grand Priest/Priestess (GP). While they cannot directly order those of the Holy Branch, they are in charge of everyone else. Any of their orders must first however be approved by the GP, including in times of war.
Spoiler:

Adviser:

While Advisers do not hold the power to make orders to anyone, it is their duty to inform and advise the Chieftain. As such, one can imagine the great influence they have on the orders that the Chieftain makes. They are highly respected, even among the Clergy, and are treated as such.

Generals:

Those that hold this rank answer directly to the Chieftain. It is their duty to pass down the orders and see that they are enforced by the Section Leaders.

Section Leaders:

Section Leaders are directly responsible of hearing out orders and sending out orders to their sections, corresponding to the order they themselves were given.

Regular Soldiers:

These are the people in charge of carrying out the orders given to them by their Section Leader. It is their duty to ensure the safety of the Regular Members of the clan, and to ensure the protection of the Holy Branch.

Regular Members:

These are the people who have not become a soldier, and who do not wish to serve in the clergy. While it may seem they are unimportant because of this, truly the play an important role. They are the suppliers. They are the hunters, the gatherers, the home builders, and the care takers.

Berserkers:
The Berserkers are the ones who charge head first into the throws of battle. They excel in the use of large Hammers and Axes.

Paladins:
The Paladins are the Protectors. They do not charge head first like their Berserker counterparts, preferring instead to work out a strategy and force the enemy to break away from the larger group and come to them. They specialize in swords and shields.

Healers:
The healers are the only of the soldiers blessed by the Gods with magic. While they mainly focus their magic on healing their comrades, they may also form swords, lances, and even bows and arrows from their magic if they are attacked. They specialize in wands, staffs and Magic Weapons (weapons formed by their magic)

Archers:
The Archers are the distance killers. They stay behind their allies, generally in high vantage points. They generally rain down arrows on their enemies, their aim swift and true, but they also aid the paladins and destroy the enemies they lure and watch over the healers. They specialize in bows and crossbows.

PostSubject: The Kineara - The Kineara Gods   Race Creation EmptyThu Mar 22, 2012 9:29 pm

The Kin worship their own Gods, and they shall be discussed here.

The two ruling Gods are:
Qinta, Goddess of Life
Qinta is responsible for the life of the Kin. Not only does she bless them with children and long lives, but she aids the land so that it may be fruitful, and the care givers of the forest pray to her each day that she will aid them in keeping the forest and it's animals alive and well.

Ruina, God of Death
Unlike his partner, Ruina does not bring the blessing of life. But death is also necessary and that is where he steps in. Ruina takes the old and the diseased so he may end their suffering, but he may also take the young and the healthy. While it is unknown as to his reasons behind taking them, none question it them.

The other Gods are:
Forgen, God of War
Forgen is a ruthless strategist. Whenever the Kin are at war, be it within their species, or with another species, they call on Forgen to guide them.

Ethain, Goddess of Peace
Ethain is kind and gentle, unlike her cunning partner who is fierce and often harsh. When there is peace, the Kin pray to her to keep their peace, and to aid them in prospering during these times.

Mordin, God of Anger
Mordin is a very... Angry God. Pity is not his strong point, and his mischievous ways often slip past his partner and cause disputes among the Kin.

Shordan, Goddess of Joy
Shordan enjoys happiness and laughter, and is often at odds with her partner who causes despair and crying. Wherever there is hate and anger, you can be sure Shordan is near by, using her gentle ways to calm it.
